Haleigh's Room Transformation

I've worked hard the last few months to get Haleigh's room reorganized.  I brought my bed from my place to let her have it since it's sort of a waste to just keep it in storage because it's a beautiful piece of furniture. So the first picture is a before and after.

I also have had a chest of drawers from when I was a kid and it's been painted multiple times so I painted it one more time grey (even though it totally looks white...my mistake) and got some cute see- through purple drawer knobs and silver pulls. So here's the before and after from that.

And this jewel below was a $10 find from Adam that was about twice as tall originally but he sawed half of it off and I just cleaned it up!!

And of course Haleigh REALLY loves her room now...it's her little oasis and spends  lot of time in there!

Still a few things to do. Like paint the star purple and maybe sparkle it up a little and take that blue wig down (that was from Santa)!

2013...A Year in Review

2013 was the craziest year of my life so far...here are a few things I want to remember:

Wedding crafting, planning, preperation
Haleigh getting her ears pierced (the 2nd time)
Wedding shower at Meredith's
Wedding shower at South Fork
Easter with my family
Surprise Bridal Shower at Work
Bachelorette Party in Winston
Rehearsal Dinner
Wedding!!
Honeymoon in Cancun
Haleigh's birthday at home
Many different vehicles
Moving out of my townhouse
Renting the townhouse
Friends weddings (Bobby & Sarah / Kory & Brett)
Haleigh's dance recital
Several Trips to Carolina Beach
July 4th at the Lake
Brewsfest with friends
NYC trip with Grandma
Redecorating Haleigh's room
Trip to Colorado
The Holiday's
And some not-so great happenings that I won't mention

Overall, the year definitely delivered a wild ride and one that I will never forget or regret. Looking forward to starting a new year and learning more about myself and the married life! Happy New Year everyone!

I got a very generous Christmas present from my husband this year which will make my blogging fun return!! I've had fun making some changes and Katie is always inspiring me to get back at it and it helps me use my creativity and will hopefully help me get back in to photography.

I'm going to update with a few pictures of course! At the beginning of December Haleigh was a penguin in her school Christmas play. She was super excited about it and I was so proud!

Adam, Haleigh and I have been playing a lot of cards so I tried to capture a game they were playing and I also got her her own personalized deck of cards for Christmas that she was so excited about!

My mom invited Haleigh and I to a Nutcracker Tea at a local hotel the O'Henry. We joined my mom and niece Ava and my mother-in-law also came. We had a blast! They had a ballroom decked out in the Nutcracker Theme with the Greensboro Ballet and Christmas goodies. We had a wonderful time and the girls had a blast sipping hot chocolate, making ornaments, and decorating gingerbread houses.

And of course Haleigh and I made some Christmas cupcakes and Adam and I had Tonto groomed and had a perfect selfie in the car! And then with all of my family in town we had the perfect photo op with my Grandmother and all of her Grandkids!

Now, with a new year coming up I am praying and hoping for a wonderful 2014!

I'm BACK!!

Well...it's been awhile. Too long. I really used to enjoy blogging and after meeting Adam I just found other interests and started using my iPad so much and not a computer. But this is a really crazy time in my life right now that I don't want to forget these things later on in life. As most of you know I am engaged!! Adam proposed July 4, 2012 while we watched fireworks that night. Totally unexpected and a special, unforgettable moment for the two of us. Since then it's been kind of a whirl wind with wedding planning, working and illnesses on my end.

After we got engaged we took a trip to Disney World for a week and had the BEST time! We love Florida and we have family and friends down there who made that week extra special! Once we got back I went in to full wedding planning mode. Finding a venue was hard but it was SO important for the both of us to find a place where we could have the ceremony and reception at the same place, and have air conditioning for the reception and that could hold the right amount of people. Then we got a photographer and took engagement pictures, I found my dress quickly (that was FUN!), booked all the important vendors and started on details. I got sick around Christmas with the flu and bronchitis and was working a lot so it slowed me down quite a bit.

Now...a couple of months later we have now booked our honeymoon and starting to really take care of the details. I'm really starting to wrap my brain around the getting married part. My wedding day is something I have dreamed of for such a long time. For the past several years the people I hung out with mostly were all married and starting families and I felt so behind and it was hard to relate and church began to really not become a place where I felt comfortable. I just longed to be married and have what all of my friends had. Now I'm in a good place where I am looking more and more forward to spending the rest of my life with Adam.

.

I WILL choose to tell my husband I love you daily. I WILL sleep in the same bed every night with my husband. I WILL hold his hand, hug on him, rub his back in front of our children. I WILL give him 100 percent. I WILL make it work. I WILL include him in all of my worries, accomplishments, fears, and cares. I WILL pray with him and for him. I WILL live a life that pleases GOD. I WILL have a marriage that others will look at and admire. I WILL go to counseling if our marriage needs help. I WILL stand by my husband and love him through all of his good and bad times. I WILL tell our children how much I love their father and what a loving and supportive man he is. I WILL travel with him. I WILL never hold him back from being the best he can be.

I cannot wait to walk down the aisle to Adam waiting on me. To start our lives together as a married couple each giving 100 percent to eachother and our relationship. He is my best friend.

All I ask is for our friends and family to support us, to lift us up, to only encourage our relationship and our future marriage!!!! What an exciting time in my life to get to plan my dream wedding and celebrate with our friends and family and we are both so excited!!

I will be back soon and try to not be so in depth and deep, but I have a lot on my mind and words that need to get out and expressed in a healthy way!!
